Christian Bale has said that he will return to his role as Batman on ‘one condition’.

The actor was chatting to Screen Rant about Thor: Love and Thunder when he made the shock admission.

He revealed that he had made ‘a pact’ with director Chris Nolan, which meant he’d only return if he did.

Find out what Christian Bale said in the clip below…

Bale explained: “No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up… Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this’. And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that’.”

He continued: “I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long’.

“In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell’. And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”

Kurt Cobain Inspired Robert Pattinson’s ‘Batman,’ According To The Film’s Director

The comment comes amid claims Robert Pattinson was ‘only paid £3million for his role in the most recent adaption’.

The report was made by Variety magazine and at the time, many fans were left shocked and took to Twitter to say so.

One wrote: “Seems like a lot for us the average person but pretty low for an actor, especially in a comic book movie about one of the most famous superheroes of all time, why’s that? Low budget?”

Alongside crying emojis, another added: “$3million for a comic book movie lead role 10 years into his career while being globally known already…?”

A third joked: “This man is eating canned tuna.”
