Fans have launched a petition for Clarkson’s Farm to get a second season after the show was reportedly cancelled by Amazon Prime.

A message on the Change.org page reads: “If you have watched the educational yet humorous Clarkson’s Farm series one and felt like you needed to see more of him, please sign this petition.

“Let’s make Amazon realise the number of users they are missing out on.”

She continued: “Clarkson has released a statement to say that should we want a second series we will need to try writing to complain to Amazon. Let’s keeps this active and at the forefront of Amazon Prime videos ‘to do list’.

“Get signing for some more humorous ‘winging it’ style farming TV with the one and only Clarkson.”

Previously, Clarkson informed his 7.3million Twitter followers that he was ‘hopeful’ the show would be commissioned for a second season.

In a tweet, he stated: “Dear everyone. There has been some speculation that the second series of our farming programme has been commissioned. It hasn’t, but we are hopeful.”

The series was released last month and shows the TV presenter tackling farm life in the Cotwolds.

While filming, he revealed that he found it difficult watching the animals he’d grown close to be killed. However, he remained adamant that ‘normal people eat meat’.

He told BBC: “Nobody likes killing animals. You can’t say ‘I enjoy killing animals’ – you’d be a deranged sociopath.

“So, you don’t enjoy it, you’ve got to do it, it’s the business.

“We all like having a roast. Well, these days I appreciate some people eat seeds and weeds. But normal people eat meat, and they like a Sunday roast.”
