A cleaner bravely handed her ‘aggressive and cruel’ boss a brutal note before retiring from the job.

The HSBC employee, who wishes to remain anonymous, told her employee in the letter that they need to start treating people with respect and ‘be kind,’ whether or not they have a high up position, reports the Metro

It read: “Hi ladies, tomorrow will be my last clean for HSBC.

“I have made a bucket of cleaning materials for the next cleaner, whoever they may be!

“I’ve left the job [employee’s name] after the way you dressed me down in the office. It was nothing more than aggressive and cruel but that’s a reflection on your character, not mine.

“So going forward, please all of you remember: in a world where you can be anything, BE KIND.

“Because you are all no better than the cleaner.”

The cleaner’s son has since shared the letter on social media, congratulating his mum on standing up for herself.

He said: “And this is why I love my mum. She’s been cleaning banks for 35 years and today walked out with this lovely note left behind for that awful manager.

“Happy retirement mum – always have the last laugh eh!”

The letter has since been praised online.

One person responded: “Well done her! My dad was a caretaker of a school for 30 years, so many rude staff.

“When I started teaching I swore I would always be friendly to all staff contributing to the school.”

Another added: “When interviewing people for jobs, I always asked the reception staff how they were treated by the candidate. A few failed the ‘attitude test’.”

“Never understood why people think what they do for a living reflects their importance,” a third wrote.

“I was raised to believe that a job is a job and anyone getting up and going to work deserves the same respect, whether they pick up litter or run the company. Good for your mum! Respect!”
