Costco Manager Kicks Customer Out Of Store For Refusing To Wear A Mask

Footage of a Costco manager has gone viral after he demanded a customer leave the store as they refused to wear a mask whilst shopping.

A customer decided to film his encounter with a Costco manager, whose name badge said he was called Tison, and he then shared it onto Instagram. Apparently, the customer has claimed as he refused to comply and wear a mask whilst in the store, the manager requested he leave the store.

Outraged, as the customer declared he had been brought up in a “free country”, he was shocked as the manager then grabbed his shopping cart and calmly walked away, telling the customer to “have a nice day” as he did so.

The customer was left in shock and then made an insulting remark to the manager as he handed over his Costco membership to a woman stood by, proclaiming “I’m not a f***ing sheep”.

As of May 4, Costco has issued a new policy which states that all customers and workers are required to wear a face mask whilst in its stores and gas stations.

The statement read: “The use of a mask or face covering should not be seen as a substitute for social distancing.

“Please continue to observe rules regarding appropriate distancing while on Costco premises.”

Despite intending it to be in the customers’ best interests, there was a backlash amongst shoppers as many took to social media to slam the decision.

One person wrote on Twitter: “I will not comply with your mask rule!”

Whilst others blasted the ‘abuse of power’, with one commenting: “You have hit a new low… you are an American corporation with an obligation to support our American values, dictating face mask for your workers is one thing but forcing this on your loyal members who paid for a membership is a complete abuse of power.”

This anger came even after the CDC guidance had recommended that all Americans wear a face mask when they were venture outside of their homes and into places where it is difficult to enforce social distancing.

Although there was some backlash, the manager Tison has received support for putting his foot down and enforcing the store’s policies.

A Twitter user said: “Good on @Costco …they made the announcement weeks ago that every member will be required to wear a mask..this a——e went in there just to cause a scene! So everyone else is wearing masks to protect him..but he won’t wear one to protect others?? Enjoy your Rona Sir!”

Following the footage making it viral, the customer decided to add another post in which he expressed his anger at those who had criticised him for his decision to not wear a mask.

He labelled himself a “speak-out public villain” and was shirtless in the footage, as he insisted: “I’ve got every f***ing right to not wear a mask.”

He added: “This isn’t about wearing a mask. This is about control.”
