Deadpool 3 writers are assuring fans that Disney won’t ‘ruin’ the franchise after purchasing 20th Century Fox.
Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have responded to concerns that the next instalment will be ‘too family-friendly’.
In an interview with Den of Geek, Wernick insisted: “Deadpool is gonna be Deadpool.”

Pitching in, Reese elaborated: “Don’t worry about that. They’ve been very supportive with regard to that.
“Now when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe we’ll hear at some point, ‘Maybe not that joke’.”
Reese went on to say that Disney was understanding of the pair’s plans, as they’d ‘seen the success’.
He explained: “But I think they’ve been incredibly supportive of what we’re doing because obviously, we were doing it separate from them for a long time, and I think they’ve seen the success and they’ve had their own even greater success.
“So hopefully, it’ll be a marriage made in heaven. But we’ve definitely got their support, and that’s a great thing to feel.”

Elsewhere in the chat, the pair described their new home as a ‘thrill,’ adding this was the case even though it was ‘a marriage they didn’t necessarily see coming’.
After the interview was shared on social media, one fan expressed their relief, writing: “Yassss, they said. “Don’t want it being this kiddie pg-13 s****,’ I hope it’s extremely violent.”
However, others weren’t convinced, with one saying: “I’m not buying it. Money talks and these writers are being paid very well. Why would they slander Disney now?”
A second mused: “I’m not worried about Disney, I’m worried about the writers themselves, and the fact it’ll use and recycle the same jokes from Free Guy and Deadpool.”
