Demi Lovato, who came out as non-binary earlier his year, has claimed aliens are protecting them.

The singer, who refers to themselves as a ‘UFO experiencer,’ has a new show coming out, titled Unidentified.

The docu-series will follow the star and their best friend and sister as they visit UFO hotspots.

Speaking about the show, Lovato told Entertainment Weekly: “The feeling that you get from these beings is so warm and loving and accepting, that it’s just overwhelming joy that happens when you’re able to make contact.”

I think they’re very caring, very intelligent beings that are just looking out for the best interest of our planet because we need some help.

“If you notice in the back in the ’40s, UFO sighting really started, and that was because, I believe, that was when we split the atom. We developed nuclear weapons. I think that they’re here.”

The 29-year-old has permanent brain damage and issues with their vision after they almost died following a drug overdose in 2018, in which they had three strokes and a heart attack.

Speaking of their own experience in the trailer for the docu-series, the ex-Disney star said: “I had this crazy experience that happened to me and Joshua Tree, it was this bright light.

“It kind of moved in these weird ways that a plane wouldn’t move. My goal is to find out what really happened.”

They hope the show, which premiers on September 30, will encourage people to have ‘an open mind and heart’ and realise ‘there’s nothing to fear’ as these beings ‘have our best interests at heart’.
