He has been denied bail and will be remanded in the custody of the Hennepin County Sherriff until he is formally sentenced, according to CNN.

Mr Floyd, a 46-year old man, died during his arrest in May 2020, while being restrained by Chauvin.

A recording of the incident, which quickly went viral, showed Chauvin pressing his knee into Mr Floyd’s neck and back area while he gasped for breath and begged for his life.
