Doja Cat has reportedly ‘lost 200,000 Instagram followers’ following a backlash.

According to the statistics page Social Blade, the 26-year-old’s following has dropped from 24.34million to 24.1million from July 6 to July 11.

It’s believed to have all started when the ‘Need To Know’ singer slid into the DMs of Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapps and asked for the contact info of his co-star, Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson.

Following Doja Cat’s message, Schnapp took to TikTok and told his millions of followers all about the exchange and claimed she was being ‘thirsty’.

The rapper then took to social media and addressed the actor’s clip and slammed his actions, dubbing him as ‘weasel s***’.

Calling him out, she fumed: “The fact that Noah did that, like went and posted a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably socially unaware and wack.

That’s like borderline snake shit, that’s like weasel shit. And I’m not saying that encapsulates his entire personality – like, I don’t imagine Noah that way.”

However, she went on to add that she didn’t want her fans to react, as he’s ‘just a kid’.

Following the star’s response, many people took to Twitter and said she could have handled the entire situation better.

One tweeted: “I don’t care [that] Doja Cat [is] talking s*** about Noah on a live broadcast is so way out of the line. I get that yeah it was inappropriate for him to expose private DMs like that but his intention is obviously just to have fun. She could’ve just DM’d him and scolded him in there or something.”

Another added: “Have to comment on the Doja Cat situation. It’s entirely inappropriate for the DM to have happened in the first place! Slamming a minor in a live video, when you have that much of a following, is awful behaviour. I hope Noah’s team are providing him support, as I’m sure they are.”
