Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, has claimed film and TV is becoming boring because ‘people are afraid of getting cancelled’.

The actor made the comments on Twitter after noticing people seemed fed up of ‘reviewing boring stuff’.

He wrote: “Saw people on here having a discussion about how tired they were of reviewing boring stuff (TV and film).

“We’re getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes because people are afraid of getting cancelled.”

He added: “So they feel like they can only experiment with aesthetics (also because some of them know they’re not that good).”

The American has since received tons of supportive comments for sharing his views.

Agreeing with the statement, one follower responded: “Yes I’m starting to hate the Left. There’s an art to being entertaining and perfecting fusing it with perceived offence. I like black jokes. I’m black. I like them because I get to think of my own offensive jokes.”

Another said: “Nah, these producers keep recreating and reviving old TV shows and films because they want to cater to the nostalgia factor. But we’ve had enough!”

But other followers believe that the 37-year-old is subtly addressing his thoughts on ‘cancel culture’.

“Ah yes, the old ‘cancel culture’ is responsible for everything,” one person remarked.

“The solution: Stop giving ‘cancel culture’ so much power. I feel like every celebrity feels the need to be reactive when communities attempt to cancel them. I’ve also seen many people straight up ignore it all and people forget it within a week,” a second wrote.
