Donald Trump has had his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida ‘raided by the FBI’ over a number of boxes that have ‘classified’ information in them.
According to Sky News, government officials were investigating documents that the former President took with him once his tenure in the White House ended.
A senior FBI operative has revealed they spent ‘most of the day’ investigating his property on Palm Beach on Monday, August 8.

In a statement posted to his personal website, saveamerica.nucleusemail.com, Trump confirmed the raid, writing: “These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.
“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.”
He continued: “After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.
“Such an assault could only take place in broken, third-world countries.
“Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.”
He added: “They even broke into my safe!”
The 45th President was not present at the time of the raid as he was in New York. However, his lawyer Christina Bobb was there.
She told reporters, via Sky News, that the bureau ‘did conduct an unannounced raid and seized paper’.
All Presidents are required by Presidental Records Act (PRA) to hand over all their documents, emails and letters to the National Archives.
In February, according to the BBC, the National Archives revealed that they retrieved 15 boxes of documents from Trump, as he had failed to hand these back.
