Donald Trump Junior has been slammed for trying to flog ‘tasteless’ T-shirts mocking Alec Baldwin for ‘discharging a prop gun that killed’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The slogan, which appears in white capital letters, reads: “Guns don’t kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people.”

Twitter users were quick to criticise him for being ‘tacky, classless, and empathy-deprived’.

One person tweeted: “In the event anyone has forgotten what a bunch of tacky, classless, empathy-deprived, grifter, jerks Donald Trump and his spawn are, here’s Junior reminding us.

“He is cashing in on a tragedy that cost a young mother her life. Because there is literally nothing they won’t exploit.”

Another added: “Donald Jr is all the proof you need that the d***** doesn’t fall far from the bag.”

A third described him as ‘pure evil,’ adding that he is a ‘disgrace to America’.

Baldwin released a statement on Twitter on Friday following the tragic incident and said he is ‘fully cooperating with the police investigation’.

It read: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.

“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.

“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

Mrs Hutchins’ husband, Matthew Hutchins, also broke his silence and said he appreciated the outpouring of sympathy.

He told the Insider: “I don’t think there are words to communicate the situation.

“I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we’re going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic.”

It comes amid reports that Baldwin ‘could face manslaughter charges,’ according to legal experts.

Production of the film has been suspended for an undetermined period of time and it has also been reported that the actor has cancelled any planned work over the next few months.
