Gogglebox Celebrity star Eddie Boxshall is believed to have been ‘axed from the show over his sexting scandal,’ according to The Sun.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Denise Van Outen had ‘broke off’ her engagement to the 47-year-old after she discovered that he had been having ‘phone sex’ and ‘meeting up with women’ behind her back.
The actress and presenter is apparently now looking to replace him with her friend and Girls Aloud star, Kimberley Walsh.
The insider told The Sun: “They were already signed up to the next round of filming when Denise dumped Eddie and she wants to honour the commitment.
“But she won’t be having Eddie back in the house, let alone on her sofa, so she is looking for a friend to come on board.
“Ideally, it would be Kimberley Walsh as they’re good pals and Kimberley has been on Gogglebox before.”
Van Outen is believed to have been in a relationship with the commodities trader for seven years.
According to the publication, the 47-year-old first began to suspect Boxshall was being ‘unfaithful’ when rumours within the showbiz industry began to circulate.
In a chat with the outlet, a pal reportedly said: “At first she found out there had been messages being swapped online, which upset her of course and she confronted him, though perhaps there could have been a way forward.
“But when she scratched a bit further below the surface she found there was more to it, including trips into London to meet someone else. So it just felt like too much to patch up and gloss over. It’s a great shame. She feels she has always been very loyal and supportive of Eddie — but has been betrayed badly in return.”
