In his revealing new memoir titled ‘Pageboy’, Page recounts a surprising encounter with actress Olivia Thirlby, now aged 36.

Page describes being taken aback by Thirlby’s mature and centred demeanour, despite them being the same age.

He felt a palpable chemistry between them and recounts a moment in Thirlby’s hotel room when she confessed her attraction to him.

The Inception actor writes (via Page Six): “It was on. I had an all-encompassing desire for her, she made me want in a way that was new, hopeful.

“It was one of the first times someone would make me c**, the first time I would open up.”

Page reciprocated those feelings and describes a passionate connection between them, noting that Thirlby helped alleviate his shame and insecurities.

“Her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room in a restaurant… We thought we were being subtle,” he wrote.

“Being intimate with Olivia helped my shame dissipate. I didn’t see a glint of it in her eyes and I wanted that – done feeling wretched about who I am.”

Page expresses that being intimate with Thirlby made him feel less ashamed of himself, as he saw no judgment or negativity in her eyes.

Thirlby publicly identified as bisexual in 2011 and has been married to Jacques Pienaar since 2014.

Page came out as gay in 2014 and publicly announced his transgender identity in December 2020.

In addition to the story involving Thirlby, Page’s memoir touches on falling in love with actress Kate Mara while working together on the film X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014.

At the time, Mara was in a relationship with Max Minghella, leading the actress to realise she could experience love for more than one person simultaneously.

Page also shares a distressing incident that occurred after coming out as gay but before their transition.

At a birthday party in Los Angeles in 2014, an unidentified A-list actor allegedly made derogatory comments and claimed he would have s** with Page to make them realise they were not gay.

The actor is believed to have insisted that being gay was not real and that Page was merely afraid of men.

Page – who recently expressed their newfound joy and contentment with their body on Instagram – is currently on a brief North American tour in support of their memoir, sharing their personal journey with readers.
