Elon Musk, who recently said he could ‘die under mysterious circumstances,’ has reportedly sent a warning to Twitter staff over his ‘expectations’.
The Tesla CEO took to the social media platform on May 6 and retweeted a publication’s article about why his employees for the platform may be feeling ‘nervous’.
He said: “If Twitter acquisition completes, [the] company will be super focused on hardcore software engineering, design, infosec and server hardware.

“Managers in software must write great software or it’s like being a cavalry captain who can’t ride a horse! Also, work ethic expectations would be extreme, but much less than I demand of myself.”
When the news broke that Musk was in negotiations about purchasing Twitter, he took to the platform and addressed the ‘future of humanity’.
At the time, he wrote: “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.
“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spambots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”

Recently, it’s also been reported that Twitter staff have branded Musk ‘dangerous for democracy’.
Bloomberg reports that developers have been banned from making updates to the platform unless it’s ‘business critical’.
At the same time, it’s been claimed that staff are posting messages against Musk on the site and within its internal message boards.
One apparently tweeted: “Point Of View: You asked me why El*n M*sk buying 9.2% of Tw*tter and getting a board seat is bad and I’m explaining why this was clearly not his end goal and things will certainly get worse and potentially be dangerous for democracy and global affairs.”
