A representative for the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office tells People magazine that the makeup artist died on November 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mallory’s cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
Many people have taken to the former TV star’s Instagram page and paid tribute, with one fan writing: “So young and beautiful. Heaven gained an angel.”
Another adds: “I’m devastated. This hurts. RIP beautiful.”
“She was such a beautiful soul and an inspiration,” somebody else pens. “My condolences to her family and friends.”
A fourth person says: “I have no words, so sorry. This is tough.”
Fellow Extreme Weight Loss contestant Kim Williams Maxile – who starred in season five – has also paid tribute.
Sharing heartfelt videos of them hanging out, she pens: “[hearts intertwined emoji] Rest in Love sis.
“To my fellow Extreme Weight Loss @extweightloss sis, @brandimallory you will be missed. I’ll never forget while I was at boot camp for season 5 we watched your season and it inspired us to keep going.
“Your episode was my favourite because we had so much in common from pageants to being a makeup artist and just a love of life.”

Maxile goes on to add that Mallory ‘reached out’ a year later and that they became ‘sisters’ through a small group.
In a YouTube interview with Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll, the late TV star opened up about her decision to appear on the reality programme.
She revealed that it was the death of one of her sorority sisters at the age of 29 that led her to want change.
“I was literally waking up every day like… this may be my last day waking up, like, I don’t know what’s going to happen for me,” Mallory recalled.
“When it’s playing on your mind that I might need to do something about my weight because I’m afraid I might die too, then you might need to pay attention to something like that.”
During her time on Extreme Weight Loss, Mallory competed in the Half Ironman – which is a fitness challenge that involves swimming, biking and running for a total of 70.3 miles in less than eight hours.
When the show wrapped up, Mallory weighed in at 178Ib and she continued her fitness journey through her passion for dance.
