Footage has gone viral of a farmer covering a Mercedes in slurry after the driver decided to illegally park on his land so that he could head ‘to the beach’ and make the most of the bank holiday sunshine.
A video has been shared online in which a farmer records himself in his tractor and points to a car parked up near a gate on a farm in Cornwall, whilst he was doing his work.
The farmer is heard saying: “The beach is nice and busy today – everyone social distancing I suppose.
“That busy, they’ve decided to park in the field.”
Following this, a child can be heard speaking to the farmer. The child asks the farmer what he plans to do about this trespasser.
The driver is then heard to be saying: “I’ve nearly finished mate, I’m not stopping.”
Furious, the farmer then covers the driver’s Mercedes in slurry.
He then drives up to the vehicle and yells at the driver: “I hope you have as much fun washing your car as I am going to have painting it for you.”
Since being shared online, the video has accumulated over 27,000 views online.
One person commented: “Personally I don’t see a problem with the farmer doing this, if you have the stupidity to park on someone’s property illegally then I’m afraid you deal with the consequences he got of lightly, park on my drive and you would be blocked in for many hours to come!”
Meanwhile, another person said: “If you’re going to the beach and there’s nowhere to park, don’t illegally use a farmers field…especially when they are spreading slurry. Only in Cornwall.”
Despite some people agreeing with the farmer’s actions, not everyone was in agreement with his behaviour.
One wrote: “I am sorry, I think it is mean and horrible.
“Used to live in Cornwall and loved it but this is disgraceful. He did it on purpose for no good reason at all.
“Obviously even this damned virus situation hasn’t changed some people for the better.”
