Viewers Left Horrified By ‘Most Disturbing’ Movie With Real-Life S** Scene
A controversial horror movie with a real-life s** scene has left viewers sickened to their stomachs.
Danish director Lars von Trier has been the subject of criticism and controversies throughout his career, with much of his work containing extremely graphic content.
For example, when his 1998 film The Idiots premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, it faced widespread backlash.
One film critic was reportedly removed from its showing for heckling and it was heavily censored for subsequent releases.
Yet another film of von Trier’s is arguably just as controversial, with people even today horrified by it.

Discussing the twisted horror, one person writes: “Reached my limit of visual violence with this one.”
Another adds: “It’s a violent and extremely, explicitly s**ual film, sometimes mixing both. It’s a flick that’s not for everyone’s tastes.”
“Honestly, I’m not really sure what to say. I will have to put this in the ‘f***ed up’ category,” a third user jokes.
Critics also agree that the nature of the film is rather shocking.
Xan Brooks wrote for The Guardian: “If you see this film you will be putting your money into something which deserves to bomb – and give a grain of validity to the sickest general release in the history of cinema.”
While the Daily Mail‘s Chris Tookey said: “It’s a horrible combination of extraordinarily unpleasant elements. It’s offensively misogynistic. It’s needlessly graphic in its use of violence. And its maker almost certainly needs psychiatric help.”

The horror follows Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, who play a married couple whose young child dies.
They retreat to a cabin in the woods to grieve, where the man experiences strange visions and the woman manifests increasingly violent s**ual behavior and sadomasochism.
What particularly horrified many viewers and sparked debate was a scene involving g**ital mutilation.
The film also explores the fear of the feminine and the tension between pagan and Christian beliefs, which is emphasized through the perspective of the female witch – with many people believing this perpetuates the idea that women are the root of all evil.
When the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009, it was reportedly met with multiple walkouts, and people fainting.
This led it to receive the ‘Anti-Award’ for the most misogynistic film from the Ecumenical Jury.
Seven years after its initial release, the Catholic traditionalist group Promouvoir sued the movie, leading to its ban in France, per The Guardian. Eventually, this was lifted but the title was moved from a 16 rating to an 18.

The British Board of Film Classification describes Antichrist as containing ‘strong images of real s**’ which show ‘unsimulated p***tration’ as well as ‘images of g**ital contact.’
Dafoe told Dazed the director used adult stars to film the nudity scenes, adding: “It was a good decision because, if it was me, then that’s all that people would talk about. Obviously, Lars wants the characters to have g**itals but it would become a distraction: ‘Oh, they really had s**!’ If he had asked me to do it, I don’t know what I would have said.”
Despite Antichrist being a point of contention for many, it’s gained a cult following, with one fan saying: “It’s my favorite film of all time, it’s bold, existential, unflinching, surreal, brave, and brilliant.”
