A Netflix movie is leaving some people so disturbed that they’re passing out.

Stephen King, who is known as the ‘King of Horror’, has written some of the most suspenseful and terrifying stories.

From ‘Carrie’ to ‘The Shining’, the author certainly knows how to tap into a person’s innermost fears.

People are taking to X, formerly Twitter, and warning movie buffs that it’s not for the faint-hearted!

One viewer says: “I totally thought that one scene was gonna make me pass out lmao.”

“This is not a movie for the faint-hearted, though. It’s pretty creepy! But what else would you expect from Stephen King? I highly recommend it,” another adds.

While a third writes: “Literally the most terrifying and devastating movie I’ve ever seen.”

“Why did I watch that before bed?” cries somebody else.

The horror thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan, stars Carla Gugino (who plays Jessie Burlingame) and Bruce Greenwood (as Gerald).

They play a married couple who arrive at an isolated home for the holiday.

Yet it ends in tragedy when the husband dies of a sudden heart attack and his wife is left handcuffed to the bed with no key and little hope of being rescued.

While finding a way to survive, the wife finds herself battling her inner demons.

Following the movie’s release, it generally received positive praise, with Gugino being lauded for her performance and Flanagan’s direction.

It’s even received praise from the genius behind the story, King – who has famously not been a fan of every adaption of his books.

He told Vulture (via Screen Rant): “The script broke the book open to get to the interior part of the story in a way that I thought was terrific.”

It’s even scored a whopping 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, which isn’t an easy feat – especially for a horror!

However, there is one particular scene that for some people is just too much…

Without giving too much away, there is one especially gory scene that has left people grossed out.

Referencing it on X, one fan writes: “My roommate and I both started screaming and covering our eyes.”

Another person comments: “So freaking brutal, and that stuff doesn’t normally bother me as much.”

So, what is the movie actually called?

It’s titled Gerald’s Game and for a very long time, it was considered to be ‘unfilmable’.

Flanagan told The Independent: “Half my life I’ve been trying to make this movie.

“The book, as it’s written, is really impossible to adapt. We had to find a mechanism to make the story cinematic while being faithful to the story, which is a beautiful story.”
