Roger Moore’s Son Says James Bond Shouldn’t Be A Woman
Roger Moore’s son says James Bond shouldn’t be played by a woman.
Moore, who passed away in 2017, played the role of the secret agent between 1973 and 1985.
He starred in seven feature films for the franchise.
Now his son Geoffrey – otherwise known as Jaffa – is speaking out on who should be the next James Bond.
Find out what Henry Cavill was told during his audition for the role of James Bond below…
In an interview with the Daily Express, Jaffa says it ‘wouldn’t be James Bond’ if a woman was to take over the role.
He goes on to say that ‘unfortunately’, the role should be continued to be played by a man – and that he also doesn’t think an American should be cast either.
Jaffa then adds that although he doesn’t think there will ever be a female James Bond, he does think there’s potential for more female-led spy movies.
He references Charlize Theron in the 2017 film Atomic Blonde, commenting that ‘women can certainly pull it off’.

Jaffa isn’t the only person to have said that James Bond should never be played by a woman.
Daniel Craig, who has now departed from the role, said in a 2021 interview with Radio Times that he thought this also.
He said that a female actress shouldn’t play the character, as women deserve their own roles.
“There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour,” Craig commented.
While one of the franchise’s producers, Barbara Brocolli, has also weighed in during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
She said: “We have to make movies about women and women’s stories but we have to create female characters and not just for a gimmick turn a male character into a woman.”
In Craig’s final film playing Bond, No Time To Die, fans were introduced to the first female 00 agent, played by Lashana Lynch.
Around the time of her casting, there was a call for the next 007 agent to be a woman.
Lynch, 35, has addressed her role and its possible future in an interview with Empire.
The Woman King star told the publication that she only ‘signed up for one film’ and has no idea about the franchise’s future.
