Speaking with Variety, Lawrence shared her thoughts on the experience: “Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’ I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.”
In the unforgettable scene, Maddie finds herself in an unexpected altercation with a group of drunk teenagers who are attempting to steal her clothes.
Instead of backing down, she fights back all the while completely naked.
The comedic nature of the scene, combined with the physicality of the fight choreography, made for a unique challenge.
Audiences were quick to praise Lawrence’s fearless performance, with many calling the sequence one of the most memorable fight scenes in recent history.
Despite the scene lasting only a few minutes in the final cut, it required an entire day of filming.
Co-star speaks out about naked scene
Andrew Barth Feldman, who plays the socially awkward teen Percy in No Hard Feelings, recalled how comfortable and professional the environment was on set.
“We became so close instantly that nothing ever felt weird or unsafe. It was entirely professional,” he said.
In a humorous exchange, Lawrence jokingly responded: “Even when I put my T-shirt over your head and motor-boated you? You felt safe?”
To which Feldman playfully replied: “I felt it was an exclusively sterile and professional environment.”
Nudity in Hollywood increasingly rare
While full nudity was once a common feature of early 2000s s** comedies, it has become increasingly rare in modern mainstream Hollywood films.
