A new Netflix horror movie is so scary it’s leaving viewers with intense anxiety.

With Halloween approaching, many are eager to find a film that will set their pulses racing.

Netflix’s newest thriller, produced by acclaimed horror director Sam Raimi, might be exactly what horror fans are looking for.

This highly-anticipated movie has rapidly gained popularity, reaching the number two spot on Netflix shortly after its release, and viewers are raving on social media, with some calling it the ‘best horror movie of the year.’

Raimi, who has built a reputation for reinventing horror, returns nearly a decade after his last hit, Don’t Breathe (2016), with another high-stakes thriller that brings a fresh twist to the classic cat-and-mouse scenario.

In the movie which debuted on Netflix earlier this week, the plot centers on Iris, portrayed by Kelsey Asbille.

Grieving the recent loss of her son, Iris finds herself trapped in a terrifying game of survival.

When a stranger intrudes upon her life, rather than offering comfort, he injects her with a ‘special relaxant,’ which triggers an intense countdown.

She quickly learns that she has only 20 minutes before the drug takes full effect, paralyzing her temporarily but severely enough to leave her vulnerable.

Desperately trying to outwit her captor, Iris must face the fearsome clock ticking against her, facing one terrifying obstacle after another as she races to find help.

Directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, the film is crafted to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

With each passing second, the stakes heighten as Iris’s body begins to betray her under the drug’s influence, while her captor lurks as a constant, ominous threat.

Asbille’s portrayal of Iris is filled with raw intensity, capturing the emotional and physical struggle of someone forced to fight through unimaginable circumstances.

She navigates Iris’s physical limitations with gripping realism, showing the gradual loss of control over her own body.

Opposite her is Finn Wittrock, who plays the chilling role of Richard, the stranger responsible for her predicament.

His menacing performance has made Richard a formidable antagonist, heightening the suspense throughout the film.

One viewer writes: “Need something to watch? Don’t Move is a really good thriller!! Edge of your seat kind of thriller.”

Another user urged others to check it out, saying: “If you like thriller horror movies, watch on Netflix asap. Sam Raimi approved (produced!) and so f**king good.”

Sharing their feelings on X, formerly Twitter, a further fan wrote: “Prepare yourself for an intense one if you plan to watch From the beginning until the end. Whew, terrifying.”

“This is what I was expecting when I saw the trailer. One and a half hours of pure suspense and tension,” another confirms.

Scores have been similarly high, with one fan declaring: “Don’t Move on Netflix 10/10.”

While others have described feeling ‘on edge’ and their ‘anxiety through the roof’ as they watched the film.

Don’t Move has already received a positive reception, with a commendable 71% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Beyond just a standard thriller, it’s a relentless survival game that captures both the desperation of its main character and the heart-stopping fear that the audience experiences alongside her.

Currently streaming on Netflix, Don’t Move offers horror enthusiasts a chilling and suspenseful journey, just in time for Halloween.
