‘Squid Game’ Knocked Off Netflix’s Top Spot By South Korean Horror Show
Squid Game, which became Netflix’s most popular show ever, has been knocked off the site’s top spot by another violent South Korean show, Hellbound.
The new number one series follows demons who kill people and send them to hell.
The bio for the show reads: “Unearthly beings deliver bloody condemnations, sending individuals to hell and giving rise to a religious group founded on the idea of divine justice.”

The website also claims it topped the streaming ratings in more than 80 countries within 24 hours of its debut, breaking the record that was previously held by Squid Game.
The series became number one in countries such as South Korea, Mexico and Belgium, and in the top three in places like the US, Canada and Germany.
Netflix Sued For Traffic Surge Caused By ‘Squid Game’
Hellbound is about an alternative Earth that is run by monsters and features a group of demons who hunt down sinners who have previously been visited and informed of the date and time of their death.
The pilot premiered in September at the 2021 Toronto international film festival, and The Daily Telegraph described it as a combination of The Da Vinci Code and The Ring.
It will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Squid Game, which has broken several records since it was released.
In October alone, an estimated 142million households across 94 countries watched the series and it became so popular that children were acting out challenges from it in schools.
The first season of the show had 1.6billion hours viewed within 28 days of its first release and is estimated to have generated over $900million in profit for Netflix.
