Wednesday Series 2 Slammed By Fans As Everyone Makes Same Complaint
A trailer for the second season of Wednesday has dropped and now everyone is making the same complaint.
The hit Netflix TV show revolves around Wednesday Addams, who attempts to solve a murder mystery at her school in the first season.
Since its premiere, the show has been a huge hit with viewers and predominantly received positive reviews from critics, largely due to Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of the dark and brooding heroine.
However, following the second season’s trailer drop, fans have taken to social media and shared their disappointment over one particular development (or lack of).

One of the most beloved aspects of the show has been Wednesday’s dynamic with Nevermore Academy student Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers.
Their unlikely friendship – a mix of Enid’s bright, bubbly energy and Wednesday’s cold, calculated demeanor – became a fan favorite.
The two characters shared touching moments, from protective instincts to heartfelt embraces, leading many viewers to speculate that their relationship could evolve into something more romantic.
Fans even coined the term ‘Wenclair’ to describe their ideal pairing, and the idea quickly gained traction online.
Despite the chemistry between Wednesday and Enid, the first season leaned toward heteros**ual love interests for Wednesday, particularly with characters like Tyler Galpin and Xavier Thorpe.
The teaser for season 2 once again suggests that romance will be a key theme, but focusing on Wednesday’s dynamic with the male characters – much to the frustration of Wenclair supporters.

Social media has been flooded with fans expressing their disappointment that the show is seemingly overlooking an opportunity to explore an LGBTQ+ storyline that feels natural and compelling.
One fan questions: “Why are they forcing another love interest when the perfect couple is right in front of them? Wenclair deserves to be canon!”
Another adds: “Wednesday and Enid have such great chemistry, and we’re getting another bland straight romance instead? Disappointed but not surprised.”
“Jenna and Emma have literally acknowledged the potential of Wenclair. Why won’t Netflix listen?” asks a third.
A fourth agrees: “It’s 2024, and we’re still getting forced hetero romances when the obvious love story is right there. Come on, Netflix.”

As highlighted in the fans’ comments, both Ortega and Myers acknowledged the theories and showed support for the Wenclair idea.
In an interview with Pride, Myers responded playfully when asked about the pairing: “I always say, and they were roommates.”
When pressed further, she agreed with the notion that opposites attract – hinting at the strong foundation for a potential romance between the two characters.
Ortega has also stated that she envisions Wednesday stepping away from romantic entanglements for a while, yet many fans have interpreted this as a potential opening for a deeper, more meaningful connection with Enid.
