Taylor Hawkins, the drummer in Foo Fighters, has died, aged 50.
The band, made up of Dave Grohl, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, Rami Jaffee, and Pat Smear, announced the tragic news in a statement shared on Twitter.
It read: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins.

“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.
“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
No cause of death has been announced at this time.
Tributes are now pouring in on social media.
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher wrote: “Absolutely devastated to hear the sad news about Taylor Hawkins my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends RIP brother LG x.”
The Smashing Pumpkins shared a message on their official Twitter account which read: “Our deepest sympathies to Taylor’s family, his fans, and of course his band.”

Radio host Steve Migs penned: “RIP Taylor Hawkins. About 15 years ago I got to interview him backstage before a Foo Fighters show. My ex left me just a few hours before I met up with him and it went from an interview to a heart-to-heart with Taylor. This will forever be an interview I’ll remember.”
Actor John Stamos wrote: “This was Taylor Hawkins’ last text to me: ‘Ya, we’ve yet to fully have a hang – got a put that s*** together before we die’. Wise words from my friend – put that s*** together! I’m so f***ing sad. Another one gone too soon.”
Singer-songwriter Questo penned: “I’m so sad about this man. Coolest dude ever. God bless and comfort his family, his bandmates, his friends and all his loved ones.”
