Footage of a woman’s head steaming during a menopause hot flush has gone viral.

The video on social media recently drew significant attention, sparking an outpouring of empathy and understanding for a woman visibly experiencing a hot flash.

This unusual video features a woman seated in the bleachers at a football game, with noticeable steam rising from her head – a sight that has left many viewers, particularly men, puzzled.

On the other hand, women who are familiar with menopausal symptoms recognized the situation immediately, and many offered words of encouragement.

One person pens: “I have all this to look forward to then after the horrific and constant pain from periods ends. We women have it great, don’t we?! And no men, you can’t compare so please at least do us the honor of not even going there.”

A second adds: “Maybe I’m the man in ‘every man needs to see this,’ because when I read the words ‘steaming from menopause,’ I was like, ‘huh. Maybe I don’t know what menopause is after all.'”

“I think that men do believe us when we are going through either this or something else female related but, sometimes men just don’t know how to handle it or to day the right thing. Doesn’t mean to say they don’t care, I just think they don’t know what to say and let’s face it ladies, most of the time they say the wrong thing anyway and get blasted for it,” laughs a third.

The video was originally posted by TikTok user Pleezebfree, whose real name is Tracey Monique.

Since its upload, the clip has generated substantial discussion surrounding the topic of menopause.

In the caption accompanying the video, Monique writes: “Hot and Hungry. Hot flashes are annoying and rude.”

The steam rising from her head caught many off guard, particularly given the apparent comfort of those around her, illustrating how disruptive and isolating hot flashes can be.

Off-camera, a friend lightheartedly jokes about the situation, which brings a smile to Monique’s face despite her discomfort.

Menopause is a natural biological process that signals the end of a woman’s reproductive years, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55.

As women go through menopause, they may experience a range of symptoms, with hot flashes being among the most common.

Hot flashes are characterized by a sudden sensation of heat that radiates through the body, especially the upper body and face.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a person experiencing a hot flash may feel intense warmth spreading rapidly, often accompanied by sweating and a flushed appearance on the chest, neck, face, and head.

It also notes that these physical sensations may come with emotional symptoms, such as mood swings and difficulty concentrating.

The video inspired an array of responses from viewers, many of whom expressed a desire for more men to understand what hot flashes entail.

One commenter suggested: “Every man needs to see this, so they don’t think their wives are being dramatic when they say they are having a hot flash.”

Others shared stories of their own experiences with partners who had initially underestimated the severity of hot flashes.

For instance, one woman recounted how a former boyfriend doubted her descriptions of the intense heat until he witnessed her ears turning red during a hot flash.

Another commenter chimed in, saying she planned to show the video to her husband, remarking on the persistent nature of her symptoms over three years and her frustration with being misunderstood.

Some comments took a more humorous approach, with one user jokingly challenging her partner’s skepticism, saying: “Let him assume I’m being dramatic lmao cause if I’m on fire then I DOUBLE DOG DARE HIM to find out that consequence.”

For many women, dealing with hot flashes and other symptoms can feel isolating, especially when those around them lack understanding.

Monique’s video, along with the reactions it has garnered, serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and awareness.
