Gigi Hadid Arrested In Cayman Islands

Gigi Hadid was arrested and charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia after she flew to the Cayman Islands.

Gigi Hadid has been arrested in the Cayman Islands. 

Hadid, 28, is an American model and TV personality who has appeared on shows such as Next in Fashion.

The supermodel also shares a two-year-old daughter called Khai with One Direction singer Zayn Malik.

While the star usually makes the headline for her stunning features and chic style, it’s now been revealed that she has been arrested and charged after flying to the Cayman Islands from the US.

Hadid and a friend arrived on a private plane on July 10 and customs went through her luggage.

It’s reported that Customs & Border Control found a small amount of marijuana and utensils used for the consumption of ganja were found after scanning her belongings, reports MailOnline.

It was reportedly determined that the marijuana was ‘for personal use only’ – however, Hadid and her friend were arrested on charges of importing marijuana and importation of utensils to smoke the cannabis.

Cayman Marl Road reports that Hadid was processed at the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Center and that she was later placed on bail, pending prosecution.

Hadid and her friend appeared in Summary Court and are believed to have pleaded guilty. They were both reportedly fined $1,000 and avoided convictions on their records.

Cannabis is illegal in the Cayman Islands, however, limited use of CBD oil is allowed for medical purposes.

Following her reported arrest, Hadid took to Instagram and seemingly addressed the incident with an array of bikini snaps, which were followed by the caption: “All’s well that ends well.”

While a representative of the supermodel tells The Mirror: “Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license.

“It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

It comes after Hadid’s ex, Malik, 30, appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast and opened up about co-parenting alongside her.

The ‘Night Changes’ singer said: “Co-parenting is good, yeah. We have a really good relationship for Khai. She is the main importance. It’s going well, I think.”

Malik reportedly now lives on a farm in Pennsylvania and he’s discussed wanting to give their daughter as much of a private life as possible – adding that he feels ‘rekindled’ with his own childhood through her.
