Gogglebox, which lost five of its stars recently, is now looking for a new cast to join the programme.

According to reports, the show’s bosses are scouring the country for fresh faces who will share their thoughts on the latest TV happenings.

Executive producer Victoria Ray has revealed what makes ‘ideal people’ to watch.

She said: “We pick people who don’t want to be on telly.

“The ideal people are the ones who don’t know that they’re funny. We like people who are charismatic, engaging and who don’t necessarily see themselves as TV personalities.

“It’s good when they have no filter because then they don’t second-guess themselves when they’re talking.

“We basically want people that you can warm to and want to see in your living rooms.”

Currently, there isn’t an official process for people to apply to be on Gogglebox. It’s believed that Channel 4 has scouts who look for potential stars by heading to shops and bars.

However, there isn’t anything specific that people need to offer.

Reportedly, the show’s cast members make £1,500 per month and, apparently, it doesn’t change depending on how many people are in one family.

As well as making some cash, the stars are also treated to free takeaways and snacks for the filming sessions.

Recently, fans of the show were left saddened when three stars of the programme passed away.

Pete McGarry, Andrew Michael, and Mary Cook all sadly passed away in a matter of months and their families and friends have made the difficult decision not to return for another series of the show.

Plus, mum and daughter Sally Hayward and Paige Deville also made the decision to quit.
