Followers have been taking to the social media platform to express their shock that he and his late brother, Barry, are related to the TV siblings.

One said: “I never knew Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox are related to the Chuckle Brothers! Mind blown.”

Another added: “Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox are related to the Chuckle Brothers. It all makes sense.”

“Also what a time to be alive when you find out that Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox are related to the Chuckle Brothers,” wrote a third.

Hinting they already knew, a fourth joked: “You tell your parents something and six weeks later they’ll be like, ‘Do you know Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox are related to the Chuckle Brothers?’.

“Yeah, cos I f***ing told you that.”

The Chuckle Brothers were best known for their children’s show Chucklevision on BBC, which ran from 1987 to 2009.

Heartbreakingly, Barry Chuckle passed away on August 5, 2018, at the age of 73.

Following his death, it was tragically confirmed that he died from bone cancer.

His brother appeared on This Morning and said: “He had pains in his legs for about two years and he kept telling me it was sciatica. He kept it from me and our manager Phil because we would have said no [to him performing].

“He wanted to work until he died. He wanted to die on stage like Tommy Cooper.

“He just loved working and making people laugh. He was a lovely guy.”
