Gogglebox star Amy Tapper says that plus-size inclusive plane and theme park seats ‘need to be mainstreamed’ so people aren’t made to feel embarrassed about their weight.

The 20-year-old appeared on TOWIE star Vas J Morgan’s Instagram live stream for his ‘I Am Enough’ discussion when she brought up the issue.

She said: “I need to look around and check no one is looking for me while I ask for an extension belt… I feel ashamed of it because it’s not the norm.

“We went to Disney and we went to the Harry Potter section and there was one ride my mum and brother were talking about all day – a 4D simulator and when we got to the front there was a seat to test if the belt would lock.

“Me and my dad couldn’t go on the ride and I was so upset. I was so angry as there were people who were bigger but I thought I need to get my act together.”

Although this is no longer an issue for Tapper – as she has lost weight – she explained that she still wants to ‘help people’ and stop body shaming.

She continued: “I want to help people. I want to promote variations of people. On aeroplanes and in theme parks. I shouldn’t be in that situation where I feel uncomfortable. People shouldn’t be embarrassed.”

When the reality star was just 13 years old, she began appearing on Gogglebox alongside her parents and brother.

At the time, she would often face abuse online from cruel trolls about her weight.

Following years of trolling, Tapper decided to turn her health around – alongside her dad – and lost a whopping three stone through a diet plan.
