Googlebox’s Malone family has announced the heartbreaking news that their beloved dog, Lucy, has passed away. 

The family, who have been on the Channel 4 show since 2014, took to Instagram on March 9 and informed followers.

Devastated, they penned: “Today we said goodbye to our beloved Lucy, she fought right to the end to stay with us.

“Now reunited with her sister Izzey. There are no words to describe how much you meant to us.

“Rest In peace sweetheart, you will always be in our heart.” 

Heartbroken fans took to the comments and said they were sorry for the family’s loss.

One wrote: “Oh my God, I’m so incredibly sorry for your tremendous loss, my deepest condolences to the whole family. It’s clearly evident how much you love your beautiful dog.”

“Lucy was a British TV icon,” said a second. “Sending you woofs and barks at this difficult time.”

A third added: “Oh my God, the loss of a family pet is hard to explain to people who have never had one. so sorry for your loss.”

“Aww so sorry for your loss, such a big part of families are our pets! Lots of love to you all,” a fourth commented.

The Blue Cross charity also expressed their grief at the news, saying: “Everyone at Blue Cross is sending their love to you and the family during this difficult time.

“We’ve enjoyed watching Lucy and the dogs for so long. We’re thinking of you all and, please know that our Bereavement team are always on hand if you ever need someone to talk to. RIP Lucy.”

The pet’s death comes just seven months after another of the family’s dogs, Izzey, also passed away.

At the time, they shared a picture of her and wrote: “Our beautiful girl Izzey, RIP.

“We are going to miss you and your gentle ways so very much. Thank you for looking after the grandkids.”
