Good Morning Britain viewers are urging bosses to ‘bring back Piers Morgan‘ after Alex Beresford took over his role on Friday morning.

Taking to Twitter, one person claimed they felt ‘annoyed’ to see the weatherman sitting in the former host’s chair.

They wrote: “Is it just me that feels particularly annoyed that @alexberesfordTV is now sitting in @piersmorgans seat? Is there a method in the madness? Not amused!”

Another added: “Bring back Piers. Don’t wanna see this bloke!”

“God that didn’t take long to fit Mr Motivator into Piers chair. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound. Come back Piers, I’m bored,” weighed in a third.

Morgan quit the daytime TV show after receiving a huge backlash over comments he had made about Meghan Markle.

He caused outrage when he claimed he ‘didn’t believe a word’ of her tell-all CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The 55-year-old also implied that he thought the Duchess of Sussex was lying when she said she had experienced suicidal thoughts while working as a Senior Royal.

“I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said,” he vented. “Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”

His comments led to a confrontation with Beresford on the programme, leading to the outspoken host storming offset.

Hours later, an ITV spokesperson confirmed in a statement that Morgan would not be returning to the programme.

It read: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Since leaving, three separate petitions have been launched, demanding producers ‘bring him back’.
