Good Morning Britain viewers are urging ITV to sack Piers Morgan over comments he has made about Meghan Markle.

The 55-year-old caused outrage when he claimed he didn’t ‘believe a word’ of the Duchess’ sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in the UK on Monday night on ITV.

In the chat, Markle made some shocking claims and revealed that she was suicidal when pregnant with her son, Archie.

She said that when she asked an unnamed Senior Royal for psychiatric help she was told that she ‘couldn’t as it wouldn’t be good for the institution’.

However, Morgan has accused the mum-of-one of lying.

“I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said,” he said. “Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”

His co-host, Sussana Reid, then interjected, saying: “Well, that’s a pathetic reaction to someone who has expressed those thoughts.”

Viewers have now taken to Twitter to slam the TV presenter and have called on show bosses to remove him from their platform.

One social media user wrote: “Meghan has tearfully said she was suicidal because of the likes of him. Does he stop and take heed? Absolutely not. He needs the sack.”

Similarly, another argued: “ITV needs to do the right thing and sack Piers Morgan for using his platform to spread out hatred on Megan.”
