An 82-year-old gran has claimed her Egyptian toyboy would be ‘great for Britain’s economy’ as she fights for her husband to gain a visa to the UK.
Iris Jones, from Somerset, married 36-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Ibriham after they met through a Facebook group in 2019, and ever since she has been fighting for him to come to England.
In an interview with The Sun, the pensioner listed the reasons why the Home Office should allow him to fly over, including the fact he’s a ‘trained engineer’.
Watch the moment the pensioner defends her relationship with the Egyptian toyboy in the clip below…
She said: “All the Home Office cares about is evidence of a relationship and we have plenty of that. They want proof he has somewhere to stay too and that’s fine, I own my own bungalow.
“They are also interested in him having a good command of English. He’s passed the required English test.
“They also care about finances. Apparently, you have to have £64,000 of finances for someone to come over from the far east on a spousal visa. I don’t have this but it might be a bit different because I am a pensioner.”
The couple currently remains thousands of miles apart, and Jones has admitted it’s left her feeling an ‘unbelievable’ heartache.
She told the publication: “The heartache is unbelievable. All we are talking about now is what will happen when we meet.
“My solicitor says I have to be positive. I am just hoping it will be good news. I miss Mohamed so much, I just want him with me in the UK.
“If he didn’t get a visa it would feel like the end of the world. It’s like he’s dead but he’s not dead – just missing.”
Earlier this year, Jones appeared on This Morning and left viewers in hysterics with her love life confession.
At the time, she said: “My skin is very thin. It’s like tissue. When it comes to making love it can be painful. I can end up in A&E because Mohamed rips me.
“But we’ve found a way… we do it doggy fashion.”
