Grimes, who recently welcomed a second child, has said that her partner, Elon Musk, ‘lives at times below the poverty line’.
The musician opened up about the Tesla owner in an interview with Vanity and revealed that there was a time when he wouldn’t even fork out for a ‘new mattress’.
She told the publication: “Like, bro wouldn’t even get a new mattress. Bro does not live like a billionaire. Bro lives at times below the poverty line.

“To the point where I was like, can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbours, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?”
Grimes went on to tell Vanity that she has struggled with dating one of the world’s wealthiest men, saying: “I mean, when people say I’m a class traitor that is not an inaccurate description.
“I was deeply from the far left and I converted to being essentially a capitalist Democrat. A lot of people are understandably upset.”

Elsewhere in the interview, it came out that Musk and Grimes had had a daughter via surrogacy in December of last year.
The pair, who share a son named X Æ A-12, decided on calling their baby girl Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
Last year, Musk stated that he and the musician were no longer together and classed themselves as ‘semi-seperated’.
However, Grimes referred to this in her interview, stating that the pair have declared their relationship to be ‘fluid’.
