Warning: the following contains a discussion of suicide.

According to a San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office press release published on Tuesday, and as reported by TMZ, the All My Children star died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The report states that Musser’s fiancée found the late star ‘seated and slumped on the bathroom floor’ on the morning of January 13.

He had reportedly been seen alive the night prior.

“She noted a firearm near him and an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest and called 911,” the press release also notes. “Paramedics and law enforcement responded and confirmed the death.”

When the devastating news was originally confirmed to TMZ, neither Press nor Musser’s uncle elaborated on the circumstances surrounding the actor’s passing.
