Harmony Montgomery’s stepmother has been arrested in the missing child case, according to reports.
The seven-year-old reportedly vanished in October 2019. However, she has only just been reported missing.
Kayla Montgomery, along with the girl’s father, Adam Montgomery, have now both been taken into custody.

According to the Daily Beast, the 31-year-old stepmother has been charged with ‘welfare fraud,’ as it’s been alleged she collected food stamp benefits on behalf of the missing child.
New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has claimed that through the alleged fraud, Kayla Montgomery has managed to obtain over $1,500 worth of benefits, dating from December 2019 to June 2021.
Adam Montgomery has also been arrested in relation to the case, having reportedly been charged with ‘one felony count of second-degree assault’ in relation to his daughter.
In addition to this, he’s reportedly also been charged with a ‘misdemeanour charge of interference with custody,’ and a following ‘two misdemeanour charges of endangering a child’s welfare’.
According to reports, Harmony Montgomery and her younger brother, Jamieson, were believed to have spent years in foster care.
Her brother reportedly managed to get adopted by a couple who also inquired about Harmony.
However, it’s been reported that the couple was informed that she had returned to her biological father’s custody.
Despite the fact the child has now been missing for ‘over two years,’ an Amber Alert – which indicates a child has been abducted – has yet to be filed.
In her profile on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, it describes her as being four feet tall, weighing around 50 pounds, having blonde hair, and blue eyes. She also wears glasses, as she is blind in her right eye.
