Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly made The Queen a ‘promise’ about her great-grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a ‘secret visit’ to the 95-year-old before travelling to the Invictus Games over in the Netherlands.

When with her, they reportedly assured her that she would get to see the infants ‘in the near future’.

The Queen has yet to meet Lilibet.

Chatting to the publication, a source reportedly said: “Both the Duke and Duchess are very mindful The Queen is getting older and has had health issues associated with her great age.

“They have made it clear they are certainly planning to return to see The Queen with their family in the near future.”

As well as stopping by to see Prince Harry’s grandmother, the Royal couple reportedly also visited Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.

Apparently, it made for a ‘very cordial’ and ‘incredibly warm and good natured’ time.

Earlier this year, it was reported that The Queen is ‘desperate’ to meet baby Lilibet in person.

Royal author Brian Hoey reportedly told The Express: “I have heard from people I know within the Royal household she really would desperately like to see the baby in this way.”

He also told the publication that through doing this, the 95-year-old was convinced the Duke and Duchess’ ‘rift’ with the Royal family could be ‘healed’ following the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview.

When the couple announced the birth of their second child, it was revealed that she was given her great-grandmother’s nickname.

At the time of Lilibet’s arrival, a Royal insider told the Mirror: “He had toyed with the idea of giving a future daughter his mother’s name but was wary of the attention it would no doubt bring to the little girl.

“In the end, he mentioned Lilibet to Meghan, when discussing potential names for their children and she loved the idea.

“It’s a fitting tribute to The Queen and something many people will hope brings the family closer together.”
