People are claiming they can see a haunting detail in the video of a missing teenager who jumped off a cruise ship.

18-year-old Cameron Robbins celebrated his graduation with a trip to the Bahamas in May 2023.

The teen joined friends aboard the Blackbeard’s Revenge sunset cruise but tragically, he’s never been seen again.

Robbins is believed to have jumped overboard as part of a dare, with haunting footage showing the harrowing moment he vanished into the waters off Athol Island.

He disappeared completely from view, prompting an extensive search by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

Despite days of intensive searching, authorities sadly concluded that Robbins likely did not survive the incident.

Footage of the teen’s disappearance has made headlines worldwide and has been scrutinized by thousands – many have been quick to point out a chilling detail in the clip.

An obituary honoring the beloved brother, son, and grandson reads: “He was lost at sea after being reported missing off the coast of Athol Island in the Bahamas on the evening of May 24.

“Though he left this world far too soon, he lived a life full of good friends and family. He was funny and kind-hearted, but also intense and driven.”

The New York Post reports that the boat’s operating company, Pirates Revenge Ltd, issued a statement offering condolences and confirming its cooperation with the investigation.

It read: “Since the incident, the company has reviewed all safety measures and protocols and are confident that the company’s practices were and continue to be in line with the highest industry standards to keep its passengers safe.”

The unsettling video of Robbins shows him swimming away from a life buoy as onlookers urge him to grab it.

The clip has been examined from frame to frame on Reddit, with some observers claiming a shark can be seen lurking by the boat as the teen jumped.

One viewer asserts: “The video shows it clearly, he was attacked by a shark and dragged under.”

In agreement, a second insists: “You can see the shark on the left side of the video.”

In an interview with the Mirror, Kevin McMurray, who runs a website that collects information on shark attacks, says the video evidence suggests Robbins may have encountered a shark.

“So my analysis, what I think happened is, he got in the water and he was swimming around, the shark, for some reason, or whatever it is – I’m not for sure saying it is a shark, but it looks a lot like a shark – essentially it comes and surfaces and there’s a life ring out to his right,” McMurray explains.

He adds that it could have been ‘a single bite or something like that.’

Royal Bahamas Defence Force Commodore Raymond King also tells the news outlet that the area where Robbins jumped is ‘really shark-infested.’

However, other experts dismiss this speculation.

Brian Trascher, a spokesperson for the United Cajun Navy nonprofit – which has assisted the Robbins family – opposes the shark theory.

He tells the New York Post: “We’ve consulted with oceanography and fisheries experts.

“They don’t believe… that he came in contact with any type of shark or predatory marine life. And until we get a better video or something more conclusive, that’s going to be our position.”

Butch Hendrick, president of public safety dive training company Lifeguard Systems, notes that shark attacks are uncommon in the Bahamas.

He points out the lack of signs of blood in the water, which would likely be present in a shark attack. He also highlights that sharks rarely consume an entire human victim.

Instead, Hendrick theorizes that Robbins may have lost his breath after jumping from the boat or the current at the time played a factor in his disappearance.

The expert explains that in typical conditions, a body should resurface unless prevented by injuries or deep water.

He comments: “It could very well mean the body is gone forever.”
