A hiker has claimed that he ‘met Brian Laundrie’ and had a conversation with him on the Appalachian Trail over the weekend.

Dennis Davis says there was ‘no doubt in his mind’ that he spoke to the fugitive who is wanted by the FBI following the homicide of Gabby Petito.

He told the New York Post that the man he met said: “Me and my girlfriend got in a fight but she called me, told me she loves me, and I have to get to California to see her.”

Davis claims he replied: “Well, the I-40 is right there and you could take it west to California.”

According to him, the man then simply responded: “I’m just going to take this road into California.”

Dennis went on to claim that the man appeared to be ‘worried’ and was ‘not making sense’.

According to reports, the Appalachians Trail is an area that the 23-year-old should be familiar with, as he reportedly ‘lived there for months’ before.

Earlier this year, Gabby Petito shared a picture of the couple in the area while they celebrated her birthday.

Laundrie has been missing since September 14. Reportedly, he was the last person to be seen with Gabby Petito, before her body was tragically found in a campsite in a national park in Wyoming on September 20.

It comes as a state park in Florida, Fort De Soto, claimed their records show that the Laundrie family checked into the campground from September 6-8, three days before Petito was reported missing.

Laundrie’s mother has also been accused of ‘using a burner phone‘. However, this claim has not been confirmed by authorities.
