Hocus Pocus fans are threatening to ‘boycott’ the upcoming sequel over Bette Midler’s ‘anti-trans’ comment.
People are taking to social media and slamming the 76-year-old after she said that women are being ‘erased’ on July 4.
Outraged, one tweeted: “Bette. Don’t be a TERF. Don’t make us boycott Hocus Pocus 2.”

Another added: “Great, now I have to boycott Hocus Pocus 2 because Bette Midler is a TERF.”
“If Bette Midler doesn’t apologise for her TERF bulls*** it’s time to boycott Hocus Pocus 2,” a third commented.
Pitching in, a fourth fumed: “Oh damn, are we going to have to boycott Hocus Pocus 2… This one millennial bright spot in years of drab fascist bulls***, because Bette f***ing Midler is going full TERF? What the actual f*** 2022.”
Referencing Roe v Wade, another said: “Trans people aren’t the reason abortion is banned, Bette Midler. And that ten-year-old who had to travel to Indiana for an abortion? She isn’t a woman.
“Including all people who can get pregnant does nothing to lessen your womanhood and it’s outright absurd for you to claim so.”

It all started when the actress took to Twitter and penned: “Women of the world. We are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives and even of our name.
“They don’t call us ‘women’ anymore; they call us ‘birthing people’ or ‘menstruators’, and even ‘people with vaginas’.
“Don’t let them erase you. Every human on Earth owes you.”
Hocus Pocus 2 is set for a cinema release date of September 30. Midler will return to her role as one of the three Sanderson Sisters, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.
