Hooters has reversed its ‘disturbing’ new uniform policy after an intense backlash on social media.

The restaurant chain caused outrage when it announced female servers would have to wear new bikini-cut bottoms.

According to Business Insider, a Hooters representative said staff will now be given the choice of what style of shorts to wear.

A statement reads: “As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones.

“They can determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image.”

It comes after many members of staff took to TikTok to show themselves modelling the skintight shorts.

In one of the trending clips, employee Kristen Songer addressed her concerns over the new uniform.

The medical student said: “This is why all the Hooters girls are upset because this is not what I agreed to wear a year ago when I was hired.”

However, not all servers said they were unhappy with the new design.

One Hooters Girl, known simply as @jazzzzzzzzzz.y, claimed she’s making a ton more tips since ditching the old uniform.

In a video of herself dancing, she said: “Me after I’ve been making way more money with the new shorts.”
