Jackman has previously had battles with skin cancer, having first been diagnosed with it in 2013.

The 54-year-old found out he had basal cell carcinoma after getting a spot on his nose checked out – which he had had for a while.

Jackman took to Instagram in 2014 after he underwent surgery to have another basal cell carcinoma, this time in his left nostril.

Jackman has since provided an update on his recent scare by announcing that the biopsies returned with a negative result.

Basal cell carcinoma is believed to be caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight – Jackman has admitted to being exposed to the sun without sunscreen quite a lot during his childhood.

It is rare for basal cell carcinoma to spread to another part of the body.

Although it is possible to have more than one appearance of basal cell carcinoma at a time.

It is known that having basal cell carcinoma once in your life increases the risk of you getting it again.
