Iceland Has Launched The UK’s Hottest Supermarket Burger As It’s Made With Carolina Reaper

Iceland has launched the UK’s hottest supermarket burger which features Carolina Reaper, which is 200 times hotter than a jalapeño.

Iceland has launched a quarter pounder burger which has come out just in time for summer barbeques. However, the barbeque staple is one to be tried by those who know they can stomach the extra spicy Carolina Reaper.

On the Scoville scale, the Carolina Reaper hits 2.2 million units and is the world’s hottest chilli pepper.

Rather than be blended with the super-hot chilli, Iceland has topped its beef burgers with the chilli instead – making it perhaps a little too hot for some to handle.

The burger has been launched after Iceland’s successful Carolina Reaper range which caused a social media storm with shoppers, who were daring enough to take on the challenge.

Head chef David Lennox says that the taste of the chilli will help to intensify the other flavours in the meat.

The spicy Carolina Reaper Quarter Pounders are now available to buy in packs of four at Iceland for the bargain price of £2.50. Alternatively, if you prefer something a little milder, you could opt for the Carolina Reaper Chilli Chicken Wings instead.
