In 2021, it might be slightly easier to get your hands on some stylish yet practical gaming furniture thanks to IKEA’s collaboration with Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers).
An unexpected collaboration has occurred between IKEA and Asus ROG, who have confirmed that a pro gaming furniture line is on its way, and at an affordable price.
Although it hasn’t exactly been confirmed what we can expect from this intriguing line, IKEA has confirmed that there will be around 30 products in total. While all will be priced reasonably, it’s believed they’ll fit under the category of “gaming furniture and accessories”. Understandably, avid gamers are expecting that chairs and desks will be a given, while some are keen for there to be some type of bed/desk/chair – which are already on the market, but quite expensive.
IKEA and Aus ROG’s designers and engineers have joined together and have imagined what a pro gamer’s furniture range should look like. To make sure its a crowdpleaser, the team has asked for the input of gamers and also taken aboard feedback. Therefore, it should be a pretty pleasing release.
Disappointingly, many won’t get their hands on it for a while, as it’s been revealed that the range will be released first in China. The line will then be rolled out to other regions from October 2021, so it’s at least a year before you can kit out your gamer’s suite with the likes of this range.
Kris Huang, General Manager of Asus Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit, said in a press release: “Together with IKEA as an expert in home furnishing, we envision that this collaboration will create synergies that empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined in the comfort of their own homes.”
