Jada Pinkett Smith’s history with Scientology is being discussed online following Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap

The actress decided to ‘set the record straight’ on her position in the religious movement in 2018, three years after The King of Queens star Leah Remini published the book ‘Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology’.

In the biographical memoir, it was claimed that Pinkett Smith was involved with Scientology and allegedly was even a member.

Determined to clear the air with Remini, the mum-of-two spoke to the star on Red Table Talk.

Before the pair’s discussion began, Pinkett Smith’s husband said that he was able to understand why the American made the claims as she was ‘hurt’ by her experience in the religion.

Smith reportedly said: “People are suffering, bad. When I look at Leah, whatever she experienced with the Church of Scientology hurt bad, and hurt people hurt people.

“And she took a shot at us out of pain. She was hurt and she started taking shots at us.”

Remini admitted in her chat with Pinkett Smith that she hadn’t ‘considered’ how it would affect her.

She explained: “I wasn’t even considering that you would be hurt literally, looking back on it, I didn’t even consider Jada and Will.

“And I’m sorry that I didn’t consider you, because I didn’t. I was so caught up in that pain, and also the pain of others and the effects that it had.”

Pinkett Smith then acknowledged that she had gone to ‘classes’ at the Church, but denied having any further involvement.

“I always took the position that I’m here at the Scientology Center to learn what I want to learn, and I have no interest in being a Scientologist,” she told Remini.

Towards the end of the discussion, Pinkett Smith and the fellow actress managed to clear their rift, with Smith’s wife adding: “Kindness is always the way because you don’t know what people are going through.”
