Jake Gyllenhaal’s fans are praising the trailer for his upcoming Netflix thriller titled The Guilty.
The film, which is based on a Danish 2018 movie of the same name, shows the actor take on the role of an emergency phone operator, called Joe Bayler, who tries to help a mum who has been abducted.
In the clip, Bayler can be seen embarking on a dangerous mission to save the caller from danger and potential death.

During the snippet, the operator asks the woman whether or not she is in a car.
To which the caller replies: “No, van.
“I’m sorry. I have to hang up. I’m going to die.”
On social media, thousands dubbed Gyllenhaal a ‘top actor’ and said anything he stars in is likely to be worth a watch.
One viewer said: “Jake Gyllenhaal is a top-tier performer, especially in his darker roles. You believe everything he’s doing without any doubt.
“Give this man his flowers, legend in the game!”
Another added: “After watching Nightcrawler, I have complete faith in his skills.”
“Jake Gyllenhaal is like the Christopher Nolan of actors,” a third penned. “Love or hate his movies, they’re always engaging, entertaining and commands the complete attention of the viewers.”
However, some people took to the comments and said it was very similar to the 2013 movie The Call, starring Halle Berry.
One person remarked: “Just to his right, Halle Berry is trying to help Abigail Breslin escape her kidnapper in the call.”
“It’s almost like The Call with Halle Berry, but this looks really good,” a second said.
