James Bond fans are outraged as producers have dropped their biggest hint yet as to who could be next to take on the famous spy role.
According to News.com.au, Tom Holland, 26, could be set to swap his Spidey-suit for a tuxedo after film bosses announced their preferred criteria for Daniel Craig’s successor.
The outlet alleges that the next 007 will ‘be under 5’10 (178cm)’ and will ‘look younger’ than previous Bonds – with Holland fitting that description to a tee and his odds with many bookmakers have dropped significantly as a result.

Fans’ reaction to the news has not been overwhelmingly positive, though, with one person writing: “No. Just no. Tom Holland’s a good actor, but you need a real man to play James Bond.”
Another wrote: “I love Tom Holland, but I do not think he’s a good fit for the next James Bond at all.
“We need someone like Cavill or Elba.

A third tweeted: “I’m seeing Tom Holland is rumoured to be the next Bond. I can’t get my head around that when my heart is set on Idris Elba as the perfect 007.”
Some however were very pleased to see Holland linked with the role, with one person writing: “I vote Tom Holland to be the next 007.”
A second added: “Tom Holland should be the next James Bond. That is all.”
While Holland’s chances of becoming Bond have not been directly addressed, the reported ‘criteria’ would seemingly rule out the likes of favourites Idris Elba, Rege-Jean Page and Tom Hardy.

The frontrunner remains Henry Cavill, who set tongues wagging in June when a Botanical No.1 advert showed him wearing a suit and exiting a bar, exciting fans with his 007 prospects.
One person said at the time: “Hello there Mr Bond. We’ve been expecting you.”
A second added: “Feels like a James Bond audition. I approve.”
