Jason Momoa’s Role In ‘Saving’ Amber Heard’s ‘Aquaman’ Part

Jason Momoa apparently had a huge role in ‘saving’ Amber Heard’s Aquaman part. 

In the actress’s defamation trial against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, it has been claimed that Heard almost didn’t play her character, Mera, in the sequel.

According to the Daily Mail, former producer and current entertainment industry consultant and expert, Kathryn Arnold, took to the stand and testified that Heard’s co-star was ‘adamant’ she remain in the franchise.

Apparently, Momoa and the film’s director, James Wan, were ‘committed to her’.

Describing the 36-year-old’s time following the first film, Arnold told the jurors: “It was that moment where not only was she a good actor, but she was now world-renowned because she was in the most successful film… for DC Comics.

“It was just this extraordinary moment for her, for her career to take off.”

She claimed that it was supposed to be ‘a star is born moment’ for Heard.

However, Arnold went on to allege that due to the actress’s bad publicity and petition for her to be removed from Aquaman 2, the star’s appearance in the sequel ended up being ‘diminished’.

It was also claimed that the mum-of-one was informed of her part in the movie was ‘radically reduced,’ with supposed action scenes being ‘cut out’.

Heard herself has also testified that she had to ‘fight really hard’ to keep the role.

Earlier on in the trial, she claimed: “I had to fight really hard to keep my career after I got my [restraining order against Depp].

“I lost opportunities. I got dropped from jobs and campaigns. I fought to keep my job and the biggest movie opportunity I had to date [with] Justice League with the option to [star in] Aquaman. I had to fight really hard to stay in Justice League because that was the time of the divorce.”
