Jason Momoa has sparked an outrage with fans after posting photos of himself inside the Vatican.

The actor, who has been in Italy filming Fast & Furious 10, took to Instagram last week and shared snaps of himself at the world-famous Sistine Chapel on his day off.

The religious site does not allow photographs to be taken in order to protect its artwork.

After seeing Momoa’s photos, fans have taken to the comments section and insisted he must have ‘celebrity priviledges’.

“We can’t take pics but of course, celebrities can, nothing against Jason (I adore him), but it’s not fair,” one wrote.

A second pitched in, saying: “All I remember about that place was, ‘No photos please’.”

“Oh my God, of course, they let you take pictures. (I thought it wasn’t allowed for preservation purposes),” a third penned.

Outraged, a fourth said: “So wait… pics in here are prohibited yet somehow although I love you @prideofgypsies, you can have the room cleared out just for you and take group pics. I mean just wow the privilege in famous folks. Just wow.

“Goes to show what bulls*** places like this are with their silly rules. They’re apparently flexible.”

After seeing the backlash his photos have caused, Momoa shared an apology video via JustJared.

In the clip, he insisted that it was never his ‘intention’ to disrespect or hurt anyone’s feelings with the snaps.

The 42-year-old went on to explain that he had made a ‘wonderful donation’ and that when it came to the images, he was ‘very respectful and I asked for permission’.

Concluding his apology, he told fans: “I love you. I’m sorry if I offended you.”
