NFL star Jeff Gladney has died, aged 25, after reportedly being involved in a car accident in Dallas on May 30.
His agent, Brian Overstreet, confirmed how the star died to ESPN shortly before the Arizona Cardinals, who he was a cornerback for, paid tribute to him with a statement.
The post, which was shared on Twitter, read: “We are devastated to learn of Jeff Gladney’s passing. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and all who are mourning this tremendous loss.”

The NFL also posted a statement about his death on the social media site, saying: “The NFL family mourns the tragic loss of Jeff Gladney and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”
As well as this, Gladney’s former teammate and friend, Jalen Reagor, expressed his sadness at the 25-year-old’s passing online.
Sharing a picture of the pair, he penned: “Lost my brother, my best friend, my right-hand man… ain’t too much more I can take man damn!
“R.I.P Jeff Gladney, brother watch over me please. Imma miss you like crazy bro… watch over me please.”

Fans were quick to react to the news on Twitter, with many sending well wishes to his family. One wrote: “Just wanted to send my deepest condolences out to his family, his teammates and his friends. I’m sorry for your loss, keep his parents and his son in your prayers.”
“This makes me sad,” said a second. “I feel terrible seeing a young person who has so much to live for die so young and so unnecessarily.”
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s department, the crash reportedly happened at 2:28 am on May 30, and officers arrived to find a ‘white vehicle that was overturned’.
As well as his parents, Gladney leaves behind a one-year-old son.
